​저는 미국에서 태어났지만, 돌이 되기 전 부모님을 따라 한국으로 돌아와 한국에서 어린 시절을 보냈습니다. 이후 고등학교 시절, 미국으로 혼자 유학을 왔고, 가족의 도움 없이 낯선 환경 속에서 스스로 미국 교육 시스템을 하나하나 익히며 입시를 준비해야 했습니다. 비교과 활동이나 이력 면에서 다른 학생들보다 부족한 상황이었지만, 제 강점을 효과적으로 부각시키는 방법을 스스로 터득했고, 결국 미국 명문대 중 하나인 Johns Hopkins 대학교에 합격할 수 있었습니다.

Johns Hopkins에서 신경과학(Neuroscience)을 전공한 후, Case Western Reserve 의과대학의 의사(MD) 및 박사(PhD) 통합 과정에 전액 장학생으로 합격하였습니다. 재학 중 50편 이상의 논문을 국제학술지에 발표했고, Nature Biomedical Engineering 및 Nature Communications와 같은 세계적 권위의 저널에 제1저자로 논문을 게재했습니다. 이후, 세계적인 안과 수련기관인 UCLA Stein Eye Institute의 안과 레지던트 프로그램에 합격하였고, 현재는 임상과 연구를 병행하는 STAR 프로그램에 참여하며 안과 분야의 차세대 리더로 성장하고 있습니다.

제가 걸어온 길은 결코 쉽지 않았습니다. 영어 실력도 부족했고, 가족 없이 혼자 유학 생활을 하며 모든 것을 스스로 해결해야 했습니다. 의사가 된 첫 번째 가족이기도 했습니다. 하지만 이 모든 과정이 저에게는 값진 자산이 되었고, 그 누구보다 입시의 현실을 잘 이해하는 컨설턴트가 될 수 있었습니다.

저는 Johns Hopkins 입학처에서 직접 학생 평가 업무를 도왔고, 대학생의 의대 진학 인터뷰 및 의대생의 레지던시 인터뷰에도 참여한 경험이 있습니다. 입시 평가가 어떻게 이루어지는지, 어떤 지원자가 선택받는지 그 내부 시스템을 누구보다 잘 이해하고 있습니다.안타깝게도 많은 입시 컨설턴트들이 실제 미국에서의 입시 경험이 없거나, 아예 미국에서 학업을 해보지 않은 경우도 많습니다. 또한, 일부 컨설팅 업체들은 한 명의 컨설턴트가 처음부터 끝까지 학생을 전담하지 않고, 여러 명이 나누어 맡는 방식으로 운영되기 때문에 학생과의 깊이 있는 소통이나 책임 있는 지도가 어려운 경우가 많습니다. 저는 실제 경험과 결과를 바탕으로, 소수의 학생에게만 프리미엄 1:1 맞춤형 입시 전략과 상담을 제공합니다. 학생 한 명, 한 명의 미래를 제 일처럼 책임지고 돕겠습니다.

I was born in the U.S. but moved to Korea with my parents before the age of one. I spent most of my childhood in Korea and returned to the U.S. alone during high school. Navigating the American education system without the support of family was incredibly challenging, but I was determined to succeed. Despite having relatively limited extracurricular activities and a modest resume compared to my peers, I learned how to highlight my strengths and stand out, and was ultimately admitted to Johns Hopkins University, one of the most prestigious colleges in the country.

At Johns Hopkins, I majored in neuroscience and went on to receive a full scholarship to the MD and PhD program at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. During my training, I published over 50 peer-reviewed research articles and served as first author in top journals such as Nature Biomedical Engineering and Nature Communications. I later matched into the highly competitive ophthalmology residency program at UCLA’s Stein Eye Institute, one of the most renowned departments in the world. I am currently a STAR resident, receiving combined clinical and research training to become a future leader in academic ophthalmology.

My path was far from easy. I faced language barriers, lived without family support, and had no prior exposure to the U.S. education or medical systems. I was also the first in my family to become a physician. However, these challenges became my strength. I learned how to succeed at every stage and now use this experience to guide students through the same journey.

I have worked directly with admissions offices at Johns Hopkins, participated in interviews for both college and medical school applicants, and helped evaluate residency candidates. I understand how the system works from the inside and bring that insight to every student I work with. Unlike many counselors or companies that lack firsthand experience, or in some cases have never studied in the U.S., I provide premium, personalized guidance based on real, proven success.
